Office artResearch already shows that artwork in the workplace can influence employee productivity, for better or for worse. Certain colors encourage creativity while others prompt collaborative effort. Art has the power to raise one’s spirits or bring them crashing down like waves on a sharp and punishing rocky shoreline. What does all of this have to do with your business?

Wire treeIf the picture rail is the trunk of the tree, the cables and rods are the branches. The trunk supports the entire structure of the tree but the leaves cannot survive without the branches to give them form and function. Rods are essentially the same, but cables are not all created equal, which means you’ve got some decisions to make once you’ve chosen the appropriate art rail.

Installing Art Hanging SystemA clean, professional appearance is even more important if you own a business. Crooked pictures and a mishmash of hanging components don’t put out a very good message to your clients. On the other hand, when your customers walk into your store and see gallery-quality hangings and signage that looks like you hired someone for the installation, it tells them that making a good impression is important to you.

Standoffs received its name from the special way it is installed to a wall or surface area. Instead of being installed flat or hanging from a wire or post, the standoff system utilizes metal spacers to hold the indication out from a flat surface area. These posts appear like a piece of hardware called a standoff, which is utilized to different parts from each other in making some electronic and mechanical systems. Because of the resemblance in the hardware, the approach of hanging or installing signs or displays making use of hardware that passes through the material and holds the material above the mounting surface area ended up being called a standoff system. Due to the fact that standoff systems need the holes to be drilled in the sign or glass for the installing hardware to go through them, they are in some cases described as "spacers".

Getting from one place to the next is a crucial part of our lives every day. Many times we don't have to think about the process of navigation because we are familiar with the trip or, more often, because there are plenty of great signs along the way to make sure you are on the right track. Because this can be such a subtle process, sometimes it is easy to overlook Directional Signs in our own businesses! Projecting Signs give a distinct advantage over other types of signs because they give your sign two-sided visibility. As the name suggests, this type of sign projects out from a wall at an angle (usually 90°) instead of laying flat against the wall. They are an excellent way to get useful exposure in high traffic areas, indoors and out!

For works in progress, or signs that you just haven't figured out how you want to permanently mount, there are edge grip standoffs. While they are more than perfectly adequate to provide permanent and secure placement for any sign, they serve a better purpose in that they don't require the drilling of holes to mount any sign. There are materials like stone and glass that can’t be depended upon to not break or shatter when drilled, so the standoff edge grips would be the perfect solution for mounting signs made on these surfaces. Sometimes any inset mounting hardware might interfere with or obscure details of a sign, so again, this would be a perfect opportunity to install the sign with convenient edge mounts.

A standoff sign is an engraved glass, plastic or metal plate that protrudes from the wall on short stands. These types of signs are often used indoors, but tougher outdoor versions are also available. The downside of these signs is that they are easy to tamper with, so take security measures when installing them.

Creating an attractive sign can be difficult, but hanging it can be even harder! Most people want to hang their sign in a way that does not steal from the attractiveness of the sign itself. This is where cable and rod systems become extremely handy! They are very strong and they will ensure that everyone’s eyes are exactly where they need to be, on your sign!

What kind of display works best for your business? Many people will describe glass displays as an effective option. Glass displays are extremely popular because of their sharp, clean appearance. They bring lots of attention to your sign, or advertisement because there is not a large frame or background to distract you from the message of the sign itself.

Standoffs work to hold signs in place on different types of wall surfaces. Threaded standoffs present an attractive display for signage of different types. Standoffs come in different styles and designs that permit them to complement or coordinate with the area surrounding the signage. Properly installing standoffs ensures the secure placement of a sign. In addition, proper installation permits an easier change out of a sign and standoff when needed.

Your business sign is a large part of your advertising campaign. The sign is used to display your company logo, and to direct people to your location. The sign needs to say something about your business, letting people know who you are, and what you have to offer. The sign placement is just as important as how the sign looks, so choosing the right hardware is an important part of the display.

Comedian Bill Engvall has a famous stand-up bit where he wishes that stupid people were required to wear signs, and then for the rest of his act gives them the famous "here's your sign" when he is pointing out something ridiculous that people say or do. Although this is nothing more than an amusing bit of satire, it illustrates both just how much simpler signs can make everyday life as well as the power of signs to make an impression.

Standoffs are one of the most stylish ways of mounting signage, display samples or artwork on a wall. Sometimes the piece is not mounted flat against a wall, but sticks out using a projection system or is suspended from a ceiling using a hanging system. These types of standoff installations are fairly straightforward to install: attach a plate to the wall, or plates with cables to the ceiling, fit the standoffs to the display piece and attach the two. More complex systems are used to display multiple units, usually by hanging the standoffs from cables or rods, and setting these up can be more complex.

Regular signs lie flat against the wall and are most visible to an oncoming viewer. However, if you want people to view your sign as they walk past it, a projection sign is a great alternative. Use this type of sign for restrooms, help desks and storefronts along a busy sidewalk to demand viewer attention.

One or more standoffs can attach a sign to any reasonably vertical surface. Since standoffs come in different lengths, the surface does not have to be flat or even perfectly vertical for a sign to be installed. This makes standoff mounted signs the perfect way to brand a company. Such signs can appear everywhere from the main lobby to the break rooms to the parking garage, exhibiting the organization's logo for all to see.

Standoffs are inexpensive spacers that fit between walls and signage or artwork and hold the latter permanently in place. They consist of a bracket that anchors to the wall or has a hole through which a separate screw fits and a piece that may fit through the sign and screw into the bracket or may be attached with adhesive. Using standoffs to install signage is a simple process.

A cable system offers a sleek and contemporary style to your sign display. The cable and suspension systems help to showcase the sign without distraction. Cable systems are integral parts of shelving displays, countertop displays and even flooring displays. A cable system allows you to display multiple signs in one area easily. Use the suspension cable system for an especially clean and professional look.

Stainless steel standoffs, and standoffs in general, are an extremely efficient and attractive way to display signage and other related media. Available in many different styles, the fundamental concept of the basic standoff system is to place signs at a predetermined distance from the actual mounting surface.

Setting up a sign mount with a projection system is sometimes costly and time-consuming. It is important to understand exactly what you need beforehand and to establish a plan that gets the job done. Some projection systems come ready to mount, but designing your own projection system from scratch allows for the most flexibility and often the lowest cost.

Your glass signs display your company logo and help to advertise your business. The hardware that is used to hold your sign in place may seem like a small part of the display, but it actually plays a large part in how sturdy your sign is, how it looks and how long it lasts.

Mounting hardware often requires the use of unsightly screws and bolts. These items tend to take away from the professional and sleek appearance of the sign. Using screw covers is a great way to hide the unsightly hardware as well as add an aesthetic touch to the sign or display.

Local businesses have a tough time competing against bigger chains, no matter what industry they are in. For this reason, it is important that small businesses look for new and innovative ways to keep customers coming through their doors. One way to manage this is to have quality business signs. Too many businesses skimp when they are getting signs made, and this results in ugly, cheap looking signs that appeal to no one. Here are four tips that will help businesses attract customers through their signs.

Spacers allow you to space signage away from walls for a three-dimensional effect. These convenient PVC lengths allow bolts and other fasteners to pass through unobstructed and provide sturdy support to keep panels and letters hanging straight and looking professional. They also keep signs up and off the wall surface to reduce damage from contact.

You don’t go to all the trouble and expense of having signs made for your business just so they will blend in with the decor like the flooring, furniture and the drapes...you want your signs to literally speak out loud, as if you were the one doing the talking, and in order for them to speak, they must first stand out and be noticed and seen. When you need for a sign to literally stand out, you can mount them by the projection method. The first consideration is the location of where the sign is going to be hung.

Standoff sign mounting systems are becoming increasingly popular due to their pleasing appearance and aesthetic appeal. Within the standoff style, there are even more versatile options to consider depending on the type of sign that you are mounting and the effect for which you are seeking. The following are a few of the main styles to be considered for your signage needs.

When mounting the hardware for your signs, you should take the time to consider the material comprising the surface upon which the sign will be mounted. Unless you are going to be mounting your signs on thick hardwood surfaces or log cabin walls, you are going to need some extra support. The most common surface you would be mounting on would be drywall, which, by itself has difficulties holding a hole for anything weighing much more than an ounce. With drywall, you need to carefully consider the size and weight of your finished sign. If it’s lightweight enough, drywall anchors will suffice. Make sure you get the right size anchors to go with the hardware, and always begin by drilling a pilot hole, just under the diameter of the hardware screw. There are different types of drywall anchors, so check with a professional about the choices and which will work best for you.

You can save your business time and money by making sure the design of your sign complies with your city’s sign ordinance before you make, build, install or display a sign at your business location. Owners of signs in violation of the sign ordinance are subject to prosecution and possible fines, and will result in more expense for the owner to have the sign revised or worse, redesigned and made all over again, from scratch.

In times past, a sign was a sign, was a sign. Someone took a flat surface, usually square-ish in shape, and painted information on it. This sign was then hung on a building or placed in a frame that allowed it to stand on or in the ground. Advancements in sign technology, from light-up signs, to neon, to digitization, have allowed advertisers and brand specialists to envision a world in which signage can almost scream “Look at me!” to potential customers.

When you need effective communication in a lobby or other space, there is no better way to do so than to put up a sign. Signs are an important part of every business. They let people know who you are, what you sell, and they can convey important information about hours, days of business and a dozen other little things. However, standard signs are prone to a lot of problems, particularly from vandals. A standoff is simply a fixture that holds a sign away from a wall, but it can also help enhance the sign’s appearance. Standoffs can be used whenever the client wants a fixed-position sign—no matter its size or shape—mounted to a flat wall surface (or, in some cases, a desk or display unit). Standoffs are often used in office reception areas, for example, to mount directory signage, collages of images or artwork to the wall. They are also frequently used to display large-format menus for restaurants and promotional signs for retail stores.

Have you ever thought about the difference between a painting and a sculpture? Beyond the obvious distinction between 2D and 3D, sculpture really has a way of reaching toward you, and chances are good that if you were to enter a room with both sculptures and paintings on the wall, such as what you would find in a museum, your eyes would most likely naturally gravitate to the sculptures first, and then to the paintings. So, it’s pretty safe to assume that by adding the element of depth, the likelihood of a thing being noticed is greatly enhanced.

Wayfinding signage is a must in any working environment. Whether you’re working in a busy office environment, or managing a growing primary school, you’ll need a set of wayfinding signage that can inform, guide and direct employees, guests and other residents. Signs are made to be seen. There’s no point in having a sign designed, and then manufactured, if you intend to keep it in a place where it can’t be seen, or where people won’t notice it. Signs don’t belong in drawers, or in corners - they should be displayed as if their sole purpose was to declare the existence of your business. But you can’t have people squinting in order to read your business’s sign, can’t you? You need clear, easily readable lettering, which means you need to think carefully about the colors you use for your sign.

Not to oversimplify, but creating signs and displays is all about the precision with which you execute the sign's intended purpose. The sign can be simple, if the situation calls for simplicity, or it can be elaborate, if the need requires elaboration. The goal is to always perfectly achieve the goal of that sign or display. The reason why so many sign makers fall short of that lofty - but attainable - goal is that they fail to firmly grasp the purpose for the sign they are creating.

The sign is part of every business’ sales team; while it might not speak a word, it says volumes about their business. When the rest of the staff clocks out at 5, the sign keeps working, day and night, 24/7, 365 days a year. The old saying is true: “A business with no sign is a sign of no business.”

Three-dimensional signage is many steps above in terms of taste, and quality is immediately discernible. Equally evident is a company’s dedication to providing the very best, whether it be professional service and products, expert staffing, or maintaining image and standards of quality.

In an increasingly competitive market, flat visual advertising is just that, flat. The one dimensional signage will not grab the attention of your target audiences senses anymore. Consumers are used to three dimensional, video, and interactive advertising so a single flat sign amongst the overwhelming marketing noise will get lost.

The point of having a sign is to draw attention to your business, office or event. A great sign attracts attention but doesn't overwhelm the viewer. Your sign should contain the name of your event or business and be of an attractive color, with text in a color or font that stands out against the background.

Many people probably haven't heard of a sign standoff. Nonetheless, they have likely seen dozens. Standoffs are a simple, modest, and professional way to display signs. They literally help a mounted object "stand off" the wall.

Very few small business owners realize the value of good signage. They look around and take the signs that they see hanging for granted. Well, quite honestly signs can make or break a business. They can be used to attract attention to your business but a cheesy looking sign or one that is not hung properly can actually make your business seem to lack professionalism and can make people shy away from your business.

Attractive signs both facing the street or inside your place of business are an important part of advertising. They can help you lure in street traffic and perhaps gain a new life long customer. They can alert people inside your store to your capabilities by giving them a visual display. They can direct people to important parts of your building. They can also showcase your business's and employee's achievements. You could spend creative energy, money, and time designing the perfect signs for your place of business, but if they aren't hung well, you may have used all of those resources for nothing.

Keep your screws safe, secure and professional looking with screw covers. Screw ends can make a piece of furniture or display look unfinished or unseemly, but screw covers cap the screw with a sleek stainless-steel disk that tightly holds in the screw for maximum safety and style. They are the perfect choice for the business mindful of appearances an safety, or the homeowner who prefers a clean visual atmosphere and low maintenance.

Rather than attaching your signage directly to a building, try using aluminum standoffs to add a little dimension to the sign. Standoffs are like spacers made of aluminum, stainless steel or other materials that go between your sign and the building it is being hung on. Adding a space of one, two, three or four inches or more adds interest to your signage and makes it more noticeable to the public. Spacers or aluminum standoffs come in different diameters and lengths to support many different kinds and weights of signs.

Most business owners will invest in signs to attract people to the product they are trying to promote. This is one of the best and cheapest investments that owners will invest in, but there is a very important part of the signs, which most people forget about. The only thing holding up those signs will be standoffs and depending on some factors, you should consider different types of materials they are made from. One of the factors will be the weight of your sign, most standoffs will be able to handle the weight load of your signs, but it is better to ensure they are strong enough.

One of the hottest trends in the sign and display field today is the use of wall set standoffs. It is impossible today to walk into an office building without seeing some form of glass signage that is being used in conjunction with a wall set standoff kit. Standoffs typically feature a circular barrel that is affixed to the wall via a wall anchor and screw. They are produced in a variety of heights and diameters to provide for differing applications. The signage substrate sits on top of the barrel and is then secured by means of a cap that screws into the threaded barrel.

The standoff got its name from the unique way it is mounted to a wall or surface. Rather than being mounted flat or hanging from a wire or post, the standoff system uses small metal posts to hold the sign out from a flat surface. These posts resemble a piece of hardware called a standoff, which is used to separate parts from each other in manufacturing some electronic and mechanical systems.
