Aluminum Z-Clip 6 ft (72'') Medium to Heavy Duty
Description:
Z Clips are a popular choice for hanging large format projects. Also referred to as a French cleat, the clips wedge together, locking your panels in place. Because of the simple and easy installation, the clips allow for fast and easy future removal, dismounting, changing or replacing. Since the clips can be removed and re-installed, they allow for a more ecologically friendly installation. Z clips are completely concealed after installation. They can be pre-finished off site and eliminate the need for costly and time consuming on site finishing like traditional installation products. All of our Z Clips are made of aluminum and are lightweight and durable. Designed for both pieces of the clips to interlock, securely locking panels in place. Ideal for Hanging Wall Panels, Partitions, and Signs. **Each piece is sold individually. Images depict 2 pieces in use** We have different lengths available: 2 in., 3 ft., and 6 ft.

Installation

- Step 1: Measure wall height. If installing full wall panels, be sure to cut panels to be mounted slightly shorter for ceiling clearance. (see below) ZCP1 Panels should be 3/8'' shorter for ceiling clearance
- Step 2: Place a level line on all walls to be paneled.
Note: If installing 4' x 8' panels we recommend a minimum of four lengths of Z clips on the wall, and twelve 2 1/2'' clips on the panel. For panels greater than 8', use additional Z clip parts as needed.
- Step 3: Using your level line as a reference, mark the location of the bottom edge of the Z clip on the wall, making sure that neither part of the Z clip interferes with the electrical outlets or plumbing fixtures.
- Step 4: Using the appropriate fastener, attach the Z clip to the wall with the angled surface up and facing the wall.
Note: Lengths of Z clip may need to be shimmed to compensate for wall defects.
- Step 5: Make a story pole the same height as the wall and approximately 3/4'' x 1 1/2''. Transfer the Z clip bottom edge line (B) to the story pole. Measure up from this line 3.04'' and mark a parallel line (A). This is the location of the top edge of the Z clip on the panel. - Step 6: After aligning the panel bottom with the bottom line on the story pole, transfer the A lines to the back of the panel.
- Step 7: Align Z clip on the A lines on the panel back with the angled surface down and facing the panel. (6 pairs – 12 parts of Z clip are recommended per each 4' x 8' panel.)
- Step 8: Attach the Z clip with the appropriate screw for the panel material.
- Step 9: Hang panels on the wall and position side to side.
- Step 10: Pull down with force to wedge the two parts of the Z clip together.
